Ready for Spring!

Dear Spring,

Please hurry. I can't take all this snow- we've had a record amount of snow, something not seen here in 100 years. I miss seeing your pretty flowers and the beautiful sun. Please come and cheer me up quickly!

A Personal Decision...

We have had to decide where our interests lie and what we want to do with our social work careers, in order to be placed in our second year placements. I originally had planned on trying to get the placement at the counseling center on campus, which pays half tuition plus a monthly stipend. However, I have felt prompted to consider a different route- corrections. I have decided that I want to work in corrections. The placement that I applied for is at the women's correctional facility in
Marysville, Ohio. I feel like this is the route I need to take, even though it means no half-tuition or monthly stipend. I will have to take out loans and hopefully get a scholarship to help supplement. I am having a hard time giving up the counseling center job, because of the half-tuition, but I am feeling more confident in my decision to work in this particular setting.

Snowmageddon!

Ohio does not know how to handle snow. They have different levels of snow emergencies. We are currently at a level 1, meaning that if you don't have to be out driving, you shouldn't be out driving. However, with the snow that is expected to come tomorrow and wednesday, it could be elevated to a level 2. Everyone is freaking out over one lousy foot of snow, which in Utah would not be fussed over quite like they are doing here. I find it very funny. Most of the schools were closed Friday and over the weekend, but Ohio State was not, which stunk. That means that I still have to drive in it to get to class.
